avr-libc provides a simple macro PROGMEM that is defined as a attribute to tell GCC compiler to do something special about the variables that have the attribute PROGMEM. Text strings can be represented in two ways. strcat does NOT return "a new pointer". These tend to be large structures so putting them into program memory is often desirable. Note that this will only work if the data in your char[] contains an ascii string, and is properly null-terminated. The strcpy () function is used to copy the str [] string to the out_num [] array. #include
